Announcing our 2M Loop Is Usable on ...

2/27/13: We wanted you to let know that our 2 Meter Loop loads on both 2 Meter and 70cM.  70cM will not have the same performance as on 2M, but it works fine for local use.  We just wanted to let you know that 70cM is usable at no additional cost.

Greetings. I just learned about your antennas. I am a Ham since 1991, but am getting back active recently. I love in a HOA restricted community and was considering your dualband antenna for 2m/70cm. However, I was wondering if it is possible to retune the loop for FM simplex and repeater portion of the bands? I do not have any SSB capable gear right now. I am just looking to hide something small given my challenge. Thank you. Bill. KD4GJM

Bill, First of all tnx for taking a look at our antennas. The 2M/70cm loop is, as you are aware, tuned for the weak signal part of the band. I do not typically recommend it for repeater usage because of the design frequency of the loop, and also it is horizontally polarized vs. the vertical polarization of the repeaters. However, be aware that I use my personal loops for the local repeaters (30 – 40 miles out) and don’t have any issues as long as I don’t turn the power up too high. If your repeaters are in the 145mhz to low 146mhz range the SWR is typically around 2 or a little less. Bottom line is Bill, while I do not sale it for repeater usage, you can under certain circumstances use it for local repeaters. Hope this helps Bill.
